My interpretations of the symbol for the modern neurodiversity movement, a rainbow infinity. I 'Light It Up Gold' on one variation to symbolize the updated aesthetics of the Actually Autistic movement.
Myself and many others in this community denounce the puzzle piece/using blue as symbols for autism. Long story short, the organization who advocates those old symbols doesn't actually advocate for autistic acceptance: instead they endorse a form of conversion therapy and are actively searching for a "cure" to autism (by the way, it doesn't work like that).
So, celebrate Autism Acceptance Month this April instead of Autism Awareness. 'Light It Up Gold' or go 'Red Instead', and lift up Actually Autistic voices instead of those who would speak over them. Support autistics ourselves, and stop lining the pockets of a hateful organization.
